Action, which takes place for the third consecutive year, brings stories of overcoming and coping with the disease

São Paulo, October 19, 2022 – Azul Viagens, tour operator of Azul, in partnership with Hospital de Amor, today presented complete travel packages to the three winners of the cultural contest “Next Destination: a Vitória”. The action was aimed at women over 18 years of age, who have been undergoing breast cancer treatment for at least two years at the reference health unit across the country. This year, participants wrote a handwritten letter, bringing their own stories of overcoming and coping with cancer, in order to support women who received a similar diagnosis recently.

Rita de Cássia Contelli, from Ariquemes (RO), Fabiana Pereira, from São Gotardo (MG), and Kátia Vilela, from Prata (MG), were this year’s winners, in first, second and third place, respectively. They were presented with vouchers from Azul Viagens with complete packages – which include round-trip airfare, accommodation and tours – to Natal (RN), Maceió (AL) and Porto Seguro (BA). The awards were delivered by Rubens Rafael Schaefer, director of Azul, Julia Meira, of Azul Viagens, and Aline Dias dos Santos, coordinator of the Sociocultural Institute at Hospital de Amor.

Through the project “Conexão Azul Rosa”, carried out in partnership with Azul Linhas Aéreas, these patients can reach a specialized treatment center, with the comfort and agility that a plane trip can offer.

Since 2017, the airline has embraced the cause of Hospital de Amor and has been developing actions that help the institution’s patients and allow for more quality and humanization for treatment.

One of these actions is the project Conectação Azul Rosa, in which, through this initiative, Azul transports women at any stage of breast cancer treatment, along with their companions, from anywhere in Brazil, to one of the units of the Hospital de Amor or hospital institutions closest to where they live. Over its five years of existence, the project has already benefited more than 240 women with the donation of tickets so that they, always together with their companions, can travel to carry out surgeries and procedures with more comfort, speed and affection at this very moment. delicate of life.
