The month of August is known as Golden August because it symbolizes the encouragement of breastfeeding – the golden color is related to the gold standard of human milk quality.

The goal established by the World Health Organization is to increase the rate of exclusive breastfeeding in the first six months of life by 50% by 2025.

The benefits also help breastfeeding women, making it possible to reduce the risk of developing breast cancer, ovarian cancer and postpartum depression, in addition to strengthening the bonds between mother and child.
